Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November. It originated and is mostly observed in Mexico but also in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage. Family and friends come together to celebrate and remember those who have passed away. Ofrendas or altars are an essential part of the celebration set up to remember and honor their ancestors. It is a collection of food, flowers, candles, skulls and photos, an offering to their loved one's souls. All BiblioTech branches will host an altar. If you would like to participate bring by a photo of your loved one, we will make a copy and place it on the altar.
