Need book suggestions for the teen in your life? Check out the Teens' Top Ten Award, sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association. The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Every year 15 teen book groups from across the country, all of which participate in YALSA’s Teens' Top Ten/YA Galley Project, vote on their nominations and nominations from the public to determine the 25 official Teens' Top Ten finalists. Nominations are posted on the Thursday of National Library Week, and readers ages twelve to eighteen then vote online for up to three titles from the 25 nominees to determine ten winners.
Here are the 2019 winners:
- #murdertrending by Gretchen McNeil
- Wildcard by Marie Lu
- The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
- Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
- The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
- American Panda by Gloria Chao
- Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu
- Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
- The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo
