National Library Card Sign-Up Month

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month! Have you registered for your BiblioTech Public Library card yet? If not, you can do so here or you can visit any one of our three library branches to register. You just need to be a Bexar County resident. With your BiblioTech library card, you will have access to some amazing educational and entertainment resources. Some of our more popular resources are:

  • cloudLibrary: Our Largest collection of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks. Features books for children, teens and adults.
  • RBdigital: Features classic ebooks and audiobooks. These books are always available and never require users to wait. It also features a magazine collection of over 100 amazing magazines!
  • hoopla: Features downloadable ebooks, audiobooks, movies and graphic novels for children, teens and adults.
  • Lynda.com: Courses in business, technology and creative skills, taught by experts.
  • Mango Languages: A language learning platform featuring 71 foreign language courses, a built-in translator and foreign films.

September is a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide join together to remind parents, caregivers and students that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning. So, what are you waiting for?

Other Ways to Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month

  • Visit your library. Head to a BiblioTech branch during September to see what's new and take part in the celebration. Libraries across the country are participating. Do you have friends who don't have library cards? Invite them to the library.
  • Participate in the #GetLibraryCarded Promotion. Showing your library card gets you access to great things all year-round, but during Library Card Sign-up Month it will also get you the chance to win $100. Help us spread the word about the value of libraries this September by snapping a picture with your library card and posting it to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #GetLibraryCarded. You'll be automatically entered in a drawing to win a $100 Visa gift card! 
  • Help Spread the Word. Follow BiblioTech on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@BexarBiblioTech) and use the hashtag #LibraryCardSignUp to join the celebration on social media. Tag your BiblioTech branch location and let others know why you love that location and why they should visit!
