Student Advisory Council

BiblioTech Student Advisory Council

The BiblioTech Student Advisory Council consists of student representatives from high schools across Bexar County. The council serves as a safe space for student voice, perspectives, suggestions and creative ideas for BiblioTech Library. Membership benefits include resume worthy experience, exposure to county government and professional speakers, networking opportunities, development of leadership, collaboration and communication skills, as well as social media experience.

Audrie Torres

Junior

CAST Med HS - SAISD

Term 2023-2025

A flair for leadership has been demonstrated by Audrie Torres. She participates in several community and STEM-based groups as an educator, mentor, team player, and leader. She aspires to pursue a career in the medical industry and works in cancer research at UT Health in order to reach her objective, as well as volunteering at the Methodist hospital oncology department. She has developed projects regarding ethics in healthcare and other stem-related disciplines that have won awards. As a former member of the San Antonio District 3 Youth Council, Audrie has developed into a significant contributor to the community. She is a co-founder of a state-recognized nonprofit that promotes diabetes education for youth from low-income backgrounds. Audrie Torres is a proud dual-credit student at Texas A&M University and CAST Medical High School. In her free time, she enjoys participating in a mariachi band, ballet folklorico, and, of course, reading.  Her favorite genres are nonfiction and traditional literature.

Jazelle Puente

Jazelle Puente is a sophomore at the Young Women's Leadership Academy. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and is a Spurs fan through and through. She hopes to one day attend Harvard Law School. She is very interested in the law field and desires to be able to pursue becoming a lawyer, judge or politician. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, trying new things, reading, watching her current favorite show, volunteering to help her local community, and practicing sports.

Audrey Samora

Audrey Samora is currently a 10th grader at Young Women’s Leadership Academy. She aspires to pursue a career in public health. She is currently a Voeckler scholar, class treasurer, communications lead of student’s demand action club, officer of the community service club, a volunteer at the Do-seum, church leader, and teaches mindfulness classes at school. She was interested to be a part of the Bibliotech Student Advisory Council to increase accessibility to Bibliotech’s services within young people, and to increase interaction within the community. Her favorite hobbies are camping and listening to music. She is currently reading Chrysalis by Anna Metcalfe.

Danika Maddox

Fox Tech HS - SAISD

Term 2023-2025

Danika Maddox was born in Del Rio, Texas, but she calls San Antonio her home and looks forward to finishing her high school education at Fox Tech, as well as her bachelor's degree through San Antonio College, before pursuing law school. She is highly academic focused, participating in many clubs and always looking for opportunities to help. Danika plans on eventually becoming a representative in the SkillsUSA and YMCA Youth & Government organizations. At the end of her school career she plans to graduate with a JSD, Doctor of Juridical Science. In her spare time Danika is an avid music listener, cherishes time outdoors, is passionate about cooking especially for those near and dear and even dabbles in the arts through playing the violin and painting. The most important thing to her is developing a community that pushes society forward, recognizing that having opposing views is crucial and that our world is nowhere near as black and white as we may assume at times. She is honored to serve the county and looks forward to participating on the BiblioTech Student Advisory Board.

Santiago Uribe

Santiago Uribe is a junior and plans to graduate in the year 2025 from John Paul Stevens High School. In college he plans to attend Texas A&M in San Antonio with a major in psychology. He is deeply invested in the Arts and the Culinary Arts. he is also a proud member of the Student Advisory Council of BiblioTech Library.
