Checking Out Digital Books and Audiobooks

Once you have your library card number and your password/pin, you are ready to check out your first book!

cloudLibrary

The majority of our ebooks and digital audiobooks are on a platform called cloudLibrary. There are many ways you can access cloudLibrary.

  • You can navigate directly to the cloudLibrary website and login there, using your library card number and the password/pin you set up when during registration.
  • cloudLibrary provides an App Download Guide to help you download the app to your device. Need to borrow a device? Visit our Device Page for more information! 
  • You can search for books on our website, using the search bar on our homepage, and then click Check Out or Place Hold when you find the book you want. To read the book, however, you have to either download the cloudLibrary app or you must log into the cloudLibrary webpage.
  • Users can check out FIVE items from cloudLibrary at a time. Users can keep items for up to 21 days. Items that do not have anyone else waiting for them my be renewed.

Hoopla & BiblioBoard

We also have two other resources for ebooks and audiobooks, both of which require you to create an account using your BiblioTech information. These platforms are called Hoopla and BiblioBoard. Both of these resources have a website and an app, but you must go to the website first to create an account, then log into the app. For more information, please watch the Hoopla and BiblioBoard video tutorials.

  • Users can check out FOUR items each month on Hoopla. Ebooks and audiobooks from Hoopla can be kept for up to 21 days. There are no renewals, but you can re-check out the item at any time. 
  • Users can check out an unlimited number of books from BiblioBoard and keep them as long as they would like.

rbDigital

We have a small collection of classic ebooks and audiobooks available from rbDigital. These books are always available. For step-by-step directions on rbDigital, please check out our video tutorial.

Checking Out Digital Magazines and Newspapers

Once you have your library card number and your password/pin, you can use that information to register and check out magazines and newspapers on rbDigital and PressReader.

rbDigital Magazines

Our largest collection of popular, downloadable magazines is on rbDigital. After you register for a BiblioTech library card, you can use your card number to register for rbDigital online. Once you've registered, you can download the rbDigital app to your smart phone or tablet.

  • Users can check out an unlimited number of magazines from rbDigital and keep them for as long as they would like.

PressReader

Our global newspaper collection can be found on PressReader. After you register for a BiblioTech card, you can use your card number and the password/pin you chose to access PressReader by going to the Sign In > Library and Group.  

  • Users can check out an unlimited number of newspapers and magazines from PressReader and keep them for as long as they would like.

Checking Out Digital Movies and Music

Once you have your library card number and your password/pin, can use that information to register on Hoopla and Qello and check out movies and music.

Hoopla 

Our movie collection, as well as our collection of downloadable music, can be found on Hoopla. Users must go to the website first to create an account, then log into the app.

  • Users can check out FOUR items each month from Hoopla. Users will get four new checkouts on the first day of each month.
  • Music can be checked out for up to 7 days.
  • Movies can be checked out for 48 hours.

Stingray Qello

Qello provides users with a large collection of streaming music concerts. Users must go to the website first to create an account, then log into the app.

  • Users can check out an unlimited number of music concerts from Qello and keep them for as long as they would like.

Accessing Our Active Learning Platforms

BiblioTech has many active learning platforms.

Lynda Training offers over 4,000 online courses in business, software, technology, and creative skills, taught by experts in each industry. Log in with your BiblioTech card number and the password/pin you chose at registration. We also have a step-by-step Lynda Video Tutorial.

Mango Languages is a language learning platform featuring 71 foreign language courses, a built-in translator, and foreign films. Registration is encouraged if you want to save your progress, but you can also login as a guest with your BiblioTech number. We also have a step-by-step Mango Video Tutorial.

Universal Class features over 500 CEU level courses covering 30 subject areas, such as personal finance, pet and animal care, career training, health and medicine and GED preparation. This provider features professional instructors who provide grading and feedback to track your learning process. Registration with your BiblioTech information is required. Free tutoring in a safe online environment by certified subject specialists. Subjects covered include: math, science, social studies and English. SAT preparation, resume reviews, interview coaching, skills review and help with essay writing are also provided. Live tutors and specialists are available for customers of all ages from kindergarten through adult learners. Spanish-speaking tutors and specialists are also available.
