Malena Martinez is the branch manager for BiblioTech’s Eastside branch. A San Antonio native, Malena also grew up on the city’s Westside and graduated from Lanier High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has worked for BiblioTech since the first branch opened in the fall of 2013. She is proud to serve the community in which she was raised and enjoys helping patrons access the tools and resources they need to succeed.

Description

Olivia Escovedo is the branch manager for BiblioTech’s EDU branch. She looks forward to working with teachers, students, and the community in this hybrid environment. As a former ESL teacher and children’s librarian, she likes working with patrons of all ages and helping them with their library needs. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in bilingual education and moved to San Antonio to start her teaching career. After a few years in education, she switched careers and went to earn her library degree from Texas Woman’s University.  San Antonio has been her and her husband’s home for eight years. She enjoys going out for coffee, traveling, cooking, watching old movies, and spending time with her husband and cat.

She is in the process of getting her masters in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University, but when she is not doing school work she likes to relax by spending time with her family or playing video games.
